“Strengthening the health care system – Connecting the healthcare professionals”
Aims & Objectives
The objectives of the established society are:
• To provide a forum for disciplinary and inter-professional dialogue and cooperative effort among its members and related groups for the exchange of information, ideas and techniques in the field of pharmacy practice.
• To improve the professional standards of pharmacy practice and encourage
realization of the social aims of the profession as a part of public health and as a pharmaceutical service to the community.
• To provide professional development within pharmaceutical care, pharmacotherapy, health promotion, communication and documentation.
• To encourage research in pharmacy practice.
Prof Dr Azhar Hussain
Prof Dr Azhar Hussain is among one of the experts of Pharmacy Practice currently working in Pakistan. He is the first professor of Pharmacy Practice in Pakistan. He is currently working as Dean, Faculty of Pharmacy and Director General of Hamdard University , Islamabad Campus, Pakistan. He has done his PhD in Pharmacy Practice from USM Malaysia. He has contributed more than 70 publications in peer reviewed journals. He has worked as a national assessor for WHO Good Governance of Medicine study in Pakistan. He has worked on country wide monitoring of National Drug Policy, rational drug use and drug access issues. He is also the vice president of Pakistan Pharmacist Association Federal Chapter. He is also the member of Pharmacy Council of Pakistan, Essential Drug Review Committee MoH, member Drug Court, technical expert drug registration board and co-opt member for audit of pharmaceutical companies in Pakistan, He has presented on various international forums. His area of expertise includes rational drug use, national drug policy, community pharmacy practice, quality and affordability of medicine and pharmacy education in Pakistan.
Prof Dr Madeeha Malik
Prof Dr. Madeeha Malik is the first female Professor of Pharmacy Practice in Pakistan. She is currently serving as Director and Coordinator for MPhil Pharmacy Practice at Faculty of Pharmacy, Hamdard University Islamabad, Pakistan. She has completed her PhD in 2013 from University Sains, Malaysia and her Post-doc in 2015, in Pharmacy Practice from North West University, South Africa. She is also serving as an appointed MPhil and PhD supervisor for Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. She has published more than 70 papers in reputed journals and serving as an Editorial Board Member of reputed journals. She has represented Pakistan on many international platforms. Her research expertise includes areas such as rational drug use, drug policy, pharmacy education, mental health , pharmacoeconomics, health related quality of life and pharmacy workforce. She is also a member of international organizations such as ISPOR, FIP and ATINER.
Ayisha Hashmi is currently working as a lecturer in the department of Pharmacy Practice, Hamdard University, Islamabad Campus. She has completed her M.Phil Pharmacy Practice in 2016 from Hamdard University, Islamabad Campus. Her research interests include pharmacy workforce, work-life balance, job satisfaction, health related quality of life and mental health of undergraduate students.
Zahid Munawar is an expert of Pharmaceutical Chemistry with a M.Phil degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Riphah University, Islamabad. He is working as a lecturer as well as examination coordinator at Department of Pharmacy, Hamdard University, Islamabad.
Ms. Iter un Nisa
Iter un Nisa has graduated from Hamdard University Islamabad Campus in the year 2016.
Mr. Mateen Abbas
Mateen Abbas has completed his Pharm.D from Gomal University, DI Khan, Pakistan. He is currently employed as a research assistant at Hamdard University, Islamabad Campus.

Furqan Qazi has completed Pharm.D from Hamdard University Islamabad Campus in the year 2015. He is currently working as Manager Regulatory Affairs at HealthBee Projects PVT Limited.
