Our group has conducted a recent study on this topic and the results obtained were quite interesting. Escitalopram was found as most commonly prescribed antidepressant drug in Pakistan. Patients on newer antidepressants show better cognitive profile as compared to the patients on conventional agents. Medication therapy (monotherapy vs. polytherapy) had significant impact on cognition of depressive patients.
